Celebrate "hump day" (getting past the mid-point of the work week) and enjoy a relaxing walk at the beach!
This late afternoon walk is a great way to socialize while getting some easy exercise at the same time. The walk takes you on the paced walking/cycling trail along the RV campground at Bolsa Chica State Beach. The path overlooks the sand and surf, and is where kite-surfers are often found. You might want to bring a camera.
This walk is on paved sidewalk along the sandy shore of the beach. The pace is a steady brisk walk, not a leisurely stroll. The group will walk for one hour and a half or so, covering about 3.5 to 4 or even 5 miles. Jennifer will lead the group.
Dress comfortably, bring a light jacket, as the breeze picks up in the evening, and wear comfortable walking shoes, such as athletic shoes. It might be helpful to carry a water bottle.
There are restrooms at the beginning of the walk and along the way.
Well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed.
PARKING is free in the lots along N. Pacific Avenue just off Warner Avenue. Take Warner Avenue toward the ocean as far as you can go. Just after passing through the intersection with Pacific Coast Highway, turn right onto Pacific Avenue and then left into the parking lot.
MEET near the bus stop on the traffic circle on the beach side where Warner intersects with PCH, just behind the Jack in the Box Restaurant. We will be a small group of walkers standing on the sidewalk just to the side of the bus stop. Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early, as the walk will start at 6 pm sharp.
