(Birthday) Rock Band party!

It's been too long and my birthday's around the corner so to celebrate I'm hosting another Rock Band party! Anyone who made it last time can attest it was a blast. Leave your self-consciousness at the door while you sing your heart out, fiddle awkwardly with plastic instruments, and beat relentlessly on my awesome drum set.

I plan on locking my cat away in the office this time so those of you with allergies can have a better time.

Please let me know if you can bring any of the following that are compatible with Xbox 360:

* Microphones
* Wireless guitar (I have one wired guitar with a too short cord, would be nice to have wireless one - might just pick one up myself.)

We can order pizza, otherwise feel free to bring snacks and beverages of your choosing.

Alicia, yeah I have your sunglasses. Unfortunately I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for a work trip and won't be back until Thursday. I'll let you know after I get back.

Meanwhile I still have one microphone unaccounted for. Please let me know if anyone knows who it might belong to!

Yes, David, one is mine. I also left my cheap sunglasses on your mantle. How can I get those back?

Thanks Stacy, "Fiddle aw!" is my new catchphrase.

I have two more microphones than when I started, I think at least one of them is Alicia's. Let me know if you left one behind!

Hope you had a great "birthday season," David, and thanks for sharing the fun. :) Fiddle aw!

I was outside on the patio at the time but I'm pretty sure I heard you guys playing it. Special thanks to Susannah for bringing pizza, I got so involved in chatting and playing that I didn't think to order any other "real" food. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!

Waitaminute, did we sing Foo Fighters - My Hero tonight? My memory's playing tricks on me...

This was a great crowd. I had fun with the conversation as well as the Rock Band game. Thanks, David for hosting.

Thanks Dean, but pretty sure it wouldn't work, they're specialized USB instruments. However I did just pick up a wireless guitar off craigslist for cheap so we should be set!

@David, I have a wireless system for a conventional guitar. Will that work with Rock Band?

    July 15, 2012

  • CrunchyCookie

No need for instrument knowledge; as long as you have a sense of rhythm, you'll be able to play the Rock Band "guitars" :)

Susannah, you're definitely welcome to come! If you want you can just sing, or you can try to learn to play one of the instruments (they all have "Easy" settings for people learning), or you can just mingle and observe, anything's okay!

Sounds fun and interesting... I don't play an instrument. Would that still be okay if I attend?
