What in tarnation is a squash-luck?  Well, think of a potluck, but specializing in squashes!!  Strange, you say??  Well, there are thousands of top-secret squash recipes, passed down from generation to generation through folk-tales and folksong.

Whip up that squash dish that satiates the senses, sensitizes the sensations, and sensuates your salivation spots.

--------------------

This is a potluck event.  Attendees should make enough of a home-made, unique squash/gourd recipe so that all 18 attendees can have a sample size.  Sample size only as we will be having up to 18 tastes!!

Please be creative and maybe even try a squash you have never cooked with before.  There are many appetizer, dinner, and dessert recipes that use squashes.

Bringing a dish with a squash and/or gourd as a primary ingredient is a REQUIREMENT.

If you would like to bring anything else, that is completely optional but not expected.

We will provide home-made butternut squash cocktails and pumpkin martinis to accompany the fun.  We will also provide all plates/napkins/utensils.

Our home is smoke and pet free.

my stuffed kabocha was inspired by this NPR interview I heard a couple years ago: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130704456 And web searching for "Pumpkin Stuffed With Everything Good" will find a lot of other people inspired by the same interview.

At some point, I went into a hazy squash-induced food stupor... Chino and Hai were duet-singing "Killing me softly"... then Ping materialized next to me and started rapping. I'm pretty sure I passed out and dreamed all this...

There's a chance my +1 (8 yo Godson) is feeling under the weather. It's hard to tell when he's genuinely feeling sick, or hamming it up to avoid something he doesn't like. I'll have to assess the situation and may have to drop out in the morning. :/

Recipe, what recipe? We don't use recipes; we do it spontaneously, when we're in the mood -- to cook, that is... ;)

I'm such a dork; the date and time conflict with my monthly volunteering schedule. So sorry. Removing myself from RSVP so someone on the wait list can move up.

My +1 is an 8 year old. I hope that's okay with everyone. He's a vegetarian - but I figure a squash-luck should provide plenty of options for him.
