****    2d  VERSION  ****

Bilbo, a simple hobbit, is smoking his pipe one day when the wizard Gandalf appears and asks him to go on an adventure. He is confused and tells the wizard to come back the next day. The wizard does show up the next day, but only after thirteen dwarves have knocked at his door first. Bilbo is very frustrated by this, but he acts the part of the gracious host.

The dwarves eat, speaking of their imminent journey to an old home beneath Lonely Mountain. Long ago, a dragon named Smaug chased their forefathers from the mountain and stole their treasure. The group now wants Bilbo to come along as their thief...

Where was that coffee place people went afterward? I got left behind, and a little lost. Took me a while to find something I thought was it, but nobody was there anymore. :( Liked the movie a lot though.

Since this is opening weekend, should we line up 12:30pm?

    December 14, 2012

    • Jennifer

I am going early with other people to save seats inside and be in the front of the line. People can come at 12:30pm or 1pm because I will have already been there for us.

All those who are absolutely going to attend this Saturday's Hobbit movie please buy your tickets in advance this week online, or in person at the theater.

I would like to request that anyone unsure if they are attending to switch your RSVP to NO. If your plans shape up so you CAN attend, then switch it back to YES Saturday morning or the night before. Again, if you are NOT sure you will make it and you are more of a "maybe" CHANGE YOUR RSVP TO NO for now please.

I really need an accurate committed count of who is coming so I can appropriately save the number of seats we need for the group.

I'd also like to ask for 3 volunteers to help me be seat savers inside the theater. All you have to do is be willing to be at the theater by 12:45pm and sit on an aisle and stop people from coming in to the seats unless they are with the group. This will let you pick your seat in advance of everyone too - you only need to be on the aisle end until enough of our group has arrived.

    December 11, 2012

    • Gina

I'd be happy to volunteer to save our seats! 12:45 it is.

      I volunteer too.

If the logistics work out, this will be my very first attendance to a geek club meetup. How will I recognize folks?

    December 5, 2012

    • Jennifer

Welcome Irene! I'll be standing inside the theater or in the front of the line outside holding a place for us - please look for me or ask someone "where is Jennifer from meetup" and they will send you my way.

Hey Folks, I hope you have purchased your tickets by now....if you haven't make an effort this week to get them snapped up!! I'm going super duper early to get us all some saved seats, but most likely if you are late you will be sitting in some not so great seats.

Stay tuned for my email coming your way soon!

I'll probably try again tomorrow at work or something. :P

You are most like a: Wizard
You're a peacemaker, a do-gooder, a leader in a land fraught with peril. Like a wizard, you're a badass cloaked in the body of an average joe. You never turn your back on a friend or a crisis. You're selfless, intelligent, and you enjoy a well-lived life on the road.

I will do some research on the time, since we are getting closer to the event happening. As with all meetups, I sincerely doubt this number of people are going to attend. At most, I think our number for the event will be more like 40 people on the actual day of.

I think we should come in costume for the movie. the best one we can come up with.

So - I went to Camera 12, and tickets are on sale. The closest show time to 10am I see is /1:30./ Was there an earlier matinee that already sold out? Or are we all going to the 1:30pm show?

    November 14, 2012

  • Rachael

Hehehe... 71 RSVPs. THE GEEKS COME OUT IN FORCE. I think we may be just a taaaaaaad jazzed about this.
