Volunteer: Repair a Bike for a Kid in Need (Mountain View)

I will be hosting a number of volunteer events through OneBrick in the future. If you like volunteering, please check out the website and join up!

OneBrick arranges for groups of volunteers to help many different organizations around the valley. You can participate as much or as little as you like with no obligation.

Here's your chance to learn some new skills or to use your old ones while repairing bikes for deserving children!

What We Will Be Doing

Volunteer tasks can include cleaning bikes, repairing bikes, and/or tearing down bikes. You'll get to select a project bike that looks like a good match for your skills. If you're a new volunteer or are just looking to learn more about bike repair, you can ask to be paired up with an experienced volunteer - these folks are usually wearing a green name badge. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you get stuck or have any questions! Tools willl be provided.

What to Wear

Wear old clothes, sunblock, and a hat -- much of the work is done outside.

What to Bring

Bring $3 per person if you want to pitch in for group pizza, or you can bring your own lunch. There is a water cooler onsite. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to reduce the use of disposable cups.

To join THIS event, please sign up on OneBrick's website. If you are new, the website will prompt you for additional information.

Next, click RSVP here on this page. That's it! We will see you at the event.

-Bring your own lunch, or $3 to pitch in for pizza. Also, bring your favorite water bottle.

My apologies for showing up late -- evidently I'd skipped a step when writing down the directions, and I was looking for the intersection of two streets that were in actually parallel.

If only sign ups for this event were as dynamic as Meet Up allows for. Lol

If there's room for one more, I'm free Saturday and have a lot of experience fixing bikes.

Hi Nancy, Thanks for the reply. I'd be happy to take your spot. What do you mean an RSVP time though? You mean a time for you to cancel and me accept, or are there like times scheduled for the event for people to show up at...?

Oh I see... Alrighty, I'll just keep an eye on the One Brick site then. Would rather not have to register though just to fix bikes. Lol.
