Kurt Cobain founded Nirvana in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington. In 2014, his hometown “honored” him by declaring February 20 Kurt Cobain Day and unveiling this statue of him crying one solitary tear. Later that year, the Action Pack decided to honor him by throwing a tribute music video party featuring all of the best recordings of his band along with a whole host of other contemporaries that helped take the Seattle music scene all over the world. We'll let you guys decide which one was the better idea.
Yeah, you can expect to see some clips for MTV’s Unplugged, with Kurt in his green sweater. And of course we had to drop in a little bit of Hole and the Foo Fighters, too. But thanks to some suggestions we got on our Action Pack Facebook page, you’ll also get some Soundgarden, Blind Melon, Bush, Pearl Jam, and so much more.
So come as you are – or, even better, come as you were, and dress up in all of your finest grunge gear. We’ll provide free inflatable guitars so everyone can thrash out if you provide flannels and long hair and faded Converse sneakers and ripped jeans all over the place.
