Geographic Society of Chicago: Spring 2013 Travelogue Series

Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Presenters: Judith Bock and Linda Mehnert

This is the sesquicentennial year for the Battle of Gettysburg. We will take a look back in time to the bloodiest battle of the War Between the States, looking at sites, maps, and terrain of the battle site. Considered the turning point in the Civil War and “the high tide of the Confederacy,” we will discuss whether the battle could have ended differently and changed the face of the U.S.
