Geographic Society of Chicago: Fall 2013 Travelogue Series

Cuba Today
Dorothy Dare

There’s still a lot of yesterday in Cuba today, as Dorothy Dare discovered on her recent visit to this fascinating country.  Contemporary cultural traditions of Cuban music, international jazz, and world-class ballet contrast with an architecture fixed in time.  Dorothy experienced both the past and the present at the Havana International Jazz Festival and on an independent expedition by local buses to the towns of Trinidad, Cienfuegos, and Santa Clara where Cubans seldom see Americans traveling on their own.

We will be in the Renaissance Court of the Chicago Cultural Center. Easiest way to find us is to enter the Cultural Center via the Randolph St Entrance.
