First Steps in Digital Photography (Free)

This Meetup is designed to give newbies in photography and digital photography a starting point. Initially a basic lecture in how aperture, shutter speed and ISO affect your images will be given. In sequence a Q&A session will try to clear the more obscure points. A photo walk in the neighborhood follows, so the attendants can experiment hands on the recent acquired knowledge. Accepting volunteers to help as instructors (don't be selfish and share what you've learned from others). I shoot Canon, so Nikon, Fuji and other brands shooters are welcome to help clarify gear related questions. I'm planning to schedule more classes in a logical sequence about photography basics and open to suggestions and help.

I know that is a little short noticed, but it's a day without any events, sorry for those that cannot attend, but depending on the attendance I will schedule this class again. If there's more volunteers to teach I'll raise the attendee limit, so please, indicate if you are coming as an instructor at RSVP.

Which is faster 6 or 10? I was surprised that the company does not sell SDHC on their website

They're both fast class 10 is newer, but both are fast enough to maximize the write speed of newer cameras

Hi, I posted the cheat sheet as well as examples of aperture priority and shutterspeed priority pictures. I've also posted an exposure table that you can use as a reference. Sorry, I wasn't able to bring it earlier. Anywa, if you have any question, just post it under comments and any one of us can give you some answers. Btw, post your pictures, too!!! I know you got great shots from this workshop. :-)

I had a wonderful time today. Alfredo, Noel, and Mary Ann were all a delight to work with. I definitely have a better starting point now thanks to them and my fellow classmates. I will definitely be back.

A very nice first experience with this group. Alfredo is very knowledgeable and explains his craft very well. I will definitely be attending more of these classes so I can keep absorbing.

Hello guys make sure that you are coming. There are people on the wait list. Don't change your RSVP at the last moment. No shows will be flagged.

I can help as an instructor. But I don't do lecture. Just hands-on 'show & shoot' session [I show, participants follow. And then, they show me. hehe]. Hand-out as guide for the homework (2-3 images) after. But that's just me. ;-)
Please pm me on how you want this done so that we're on the same page.
    Thanks.

ok. btw, I just sent a pm re: a list of creative techniques using end to end range of aperture and the shutter speed. Given the time frame, I'll try to simplify further and see if I can squeeze in the rest. :D
