Children of the Caribbean Organization, was founded in June 2010 to specifically meet the needs of under-privileged children in the poorest islands in the Caribbean and more recently the under-served children in Los Angeles as well. A couple of Rosie's (our founder from St. Kitts) recent projects includes - installing flushing toilets in primary schools in Jamaica - a problem that can't be fathomed by someone in a first world country; and paying for children across the Caribbean to take CXC examinations which are required for Caribbean children to gain entrance into Colleges and Universities in the Caribbean and abroad. In 2013, she spearheaded a team that visited the island of Grenada to set up a National Volley Ball Team for the Youths of the island, Rosie didn't leave the island without donating school supplies and much needed food and Groceries to under-privileged kids. She also installed a massive playground, outfitted with all the experiences a child here in LA has come to know as simply "normal". One of her notable projects is the renovation of the Cyril Rose Nursery for HIV Positive kids in Trinidad & Tobago, with Wendy Fitzwilliams at the helm (Wendy was Ms. Universe 1998, Trinidadian and also sits on Rosie's Board of Directors).
Our next venture is the construction of a School in the impoverished island of St. Vincent, so to raise awareness and much needed funds, "Children of the Caribbean" www.caribbeanchild.com will be hosting a Run/Walk on March 23rd at CBS Studios in Studio City and we would love to have You and your group to be a part of the "Entertainment" for the event.
