Formed in 1998 by Chris Pohl, BLUTENGEL uses German and/or English and mixed between male and female vocals paired with electronic sounds and with songs often focusing on all aspects of love, from the tragedy of hopeless romance of vampires (all the way to the more animal aspects of desire) and aspects of death and the beyond travel. (Chris Pohl is also of the groups Terminal Choice, Tumor, and Pain of Progress and the owner of the Fear Section label)

The first album "Child of Glass", released in early 1999 and soon conquered the clubs and the hearts of the already existing fan community but also attracted a huge number of new fans with songs like "Weg Zu mir" and "Beauty of Suffering".

In 2001, the second anxiously anticipated album "Seelenschmerz" was released and initiated a new era in Blutengels band history. Catchy songs such as "Seelenschmerz", "Soul of Ice", " Children of the Night", and "Der Spiegel" turned the album into a blockbuster, just missing the German Top 100 Album Charts, forcing Blutengel to appear live in front of fans. The first Blutengel gig ever took place at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen on June 1, 2001, in Leipzig, in front of 10,000 fans and a venue that was bursting at the seams. At the end of 2001, the single Black Roses appeared with Constance Rudert as a singer, and soon became an inherent part of Blutengel. Eva Pölzing joined soon afterwards.

In 2002, the band produced the album, "Angel Dust", receiving a huge feedback placing 58th on the Top 100 albums in its first week because of hits like "Angel of the Night" and "Vampire Romance" making Blutengel become much more popular.

In 2004 their 4th album, "Demon Kiss" was released, followed by the DVD "Live Lines" (2005).
Meanwhile Chris Pohl was busy touring with Terminal Choice and only released the EP "The Oxidising Angel".
For the next two years the band would keep releasing singles

2007: 5th album, "Labyrinth"
2008: "Dancing In The Light"
2009: "Black Ice"
2010: Soultaker" and "Promised land"
2011: "Give Me Your Hand", "Tränenherz", "On The Horizon" and The latest album "Night Bringer" released on Oct 18th.
2012: "Reich Mir Die Hand" single released January 21st

Had a great time hanging out with the other people I could find. Blutengel was awesome live, much better than I expected. Wish I had taken video, but my SD card is small. The only drawback was that everything started an hour late, making for a pretty late Sunday night.

The plan is to meet outside the venue shortly before the doors open at 8PM. Some of us have exchanged emails & cell numbers privately. Anyone who hasn't done that yet and wishes to can contact me.

Got some details about the venue:

Everybody frisked and bags searched. No weapons, drugs, or outside beverages allowed. Cameras allowed.

Coat check is required if you bring one - $4 (cash only). Not required to check large purses.

Bar is cash or credit, but credit is $25 min. ATMs on site.

Since this is a private party, Club Rebel's normal dress code does not apply. I assume whatever's acceptable at Stimulate/Defcon is fine.
