Great forum. People voiced their concerns in a very disciplined manner. Many topics were discussed. It was a great representation of our commmunity, although senior citizens outnumbered other groups.

It was exciting and encouraging to be present at this meeting! Today's panel recognized that there is a problem but instead of trying to push the ridiculous plan from hell that the Obama Administration was trying to force feed us in Reserve, we were treated to a panel that consisted of a doctor, a small business man and a health care policy expert presented by our own Senator David Vitter who has always put the best interests of We the People to the forefront of his agenda!. No anger today!

Connie ZimmermannThe actual chamber where the meeting was held was full, so the rest of us waited outside of the building at the two different entrances. It was a good event, as we all had a great chance to talk with each other and meet new people. I saw several of our GNOTP folks and enjoyed the conversations.
From what I understand from the different media coverages (shocking I know, that they did cover it...) Senator Vitter reiteratted that he will not support this bill. The crowd was reported to be polite.
Next time I'll have to show up earlier to try to actually get in :)

Rita D BezouIt was a very good meeting. Unfortunately many who arrived were unable to get in to the meeting. Many left; many were still standing outside after the meeting adjourned and the participants were leaving, even the meeting, scheduled to end at 11:00 was not called to an end until 11:30. Many who had been to the Mary Landrieu and Obama' Secretaries meeting in Reserve remembered that Landrieu cut her meeting off at promplty at 11:00 leaving many in line to ask questions.

Deanna BarriosSenator Vitted must be supported to win re-election. There was not one issue that I disagreed with him. He does not back the health plan at all, but, more importantly, he has answers for the existing problems. I was completely satisfied with everything he had to say. I am very glad I attended.

Diane McDermottIt was an overwhelmingly supportive crowd of all ages, but mostly 50+. Sen. Vitter received several standing ovations as did others on the podium who included Dr. Peter Gavin from Slidell, Mr. Michael Mitternight a small business owner from Metairie, Dennis Smith from the Heritage Foundaiton's Center for Health Policy. We were asked to write our questions which Sen Vitter read (as many as time allowed) and let the questioners have imput or further clarify their question as it was raised. Saw one SEIU and perhaps a couple of others who could have been ACORN but they all left within the first 15 minutes of the Q&A time. Sen Vitter and his panel gave direct answers to the questions as best they could considering that some effects of this legislation is open to supposition. It was extremely refreshing after the Town Hall in Reserve where the vague Obama line was reiterated without any direct answers. The cheering was loud, the jeering nonexistent.

Gisela M ChevalierThe forum addressed all concerns people had. He read questions made by the publi, the person who write each question stood up and added comments. Sen. Vitter brougt charts very self explanatory to suppor his position about the Obamacare. When asked about Reconciliation, he said that we can stop it from happening calling, faxing, e-mailing Legislators.

KeithThe meeting was good, we had a good turnout to support our case that this is not the "CHANGE" we want, need or desire. Senator Vitter understands that. What we need to do is get in meetings with Charlie Melancon he is one that we need to get to see our point of view or he needs to understand that he will be out of a job soon.

Margaret RichmondI was one of the unlucky ones left outside.It was very hot and I was sweating bullets just like everyone else. He should have held the meeting at a larger site. But it was not all in vain because I and some of the others from gno tea part group were talking to the people and telling them about the health bill and also encouraging them to go to the rally on August 22nd. Lynne Bonvillian+1 guestWell prepared by Sen Vitter. Meeting began with prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Sen. Vitter introduced the Panel which included a physician, small businessman and insurance expert. Displays of graphs and charts and a large display of Congresses graph. Sen Vitter's staff had all participants complete a form with name, address, phone number and a specific question to be addressed by him. As he read each submitted question that had been chosen he asked the individual who had submitted the question to stand and offer additional input on the subject. Sen. Vitter was very relaxed and the crowd was appreciative of his stand on the issues. All of the questions were answered satisfactorily by him or one of the panel. All in all I think everyone was pleased with the discussions generated and with the behavior of the crowd, etc. There was a lot of excitement among the participants.

Tom GalesBy the time I arrived, they were not letting anyone else in. There were probably a hundred people on each side of the building and the people I talked to, said the room usually held about 300 people, but they let approx. another two hundred people go inside. So with 500 inside and the two hundred outside, approx. 700. Don't know results yet. Good show though. We must get on the internet chat rooms and let the young people know what is happening within our government. They do not understand how socialism, marxism and communism affect countries and takes away their freedom. Could we meet and have a class on how to contact chats rooms and maybe figure some ways we can capture the young peoples attention so they will learn the truth?

AlbertGot there about 9:45, but could not get in. There was a large crowd at both entrances. It was orderly with no incidents, at least on our side. There were some people that I assume were plants, but they weren't disruptive. On young man was videoing everyone and I assume he was not on our team. I waited until 11:45, but Sen. Vitter did not come out our way.

We need to unite no mattter what party affiliation because these are issues that will affect all now and generations to come. Act now your voice needs to be heard, WE the people elect legislators to serve not to create an elite class, make them accountable.
