The Green Building Technology Groupis a networking group focused on sustainable and high performance building professionals in the DC/MD/VA area. The group is designed for contractors, architects, designers, green consultants, builders, real estate professionals and anyone else who is interested in how work in their field is related to and contributes to this industry. We are a group who wishes to come together to discuss design and construction techniques, best practices, lessons learned, and new technology/concepts in the next evolution of the built environment.
We are organizing a six month series of networking events where we will focus on some of the following topics:
1. Identify and Educate the group on emerging sustainable construction methodologies, ratings, conceptual frameworks and standards such as LEED, Living Building, and Passive House among others.
2.Attract and Involve those professionals who are 'surfing the wave' of emerging technologies such in the areas of renewable energy, full building systems integration (smart buildings), living facade, green roofs, and sustainable sites, daylight harvesting and lighting control, and water reuse.
3. Redefine what networking groups accomplish by showcasing partnerships which are grown from within the group.
