The book that started it all for us was Mel Bartholomew's "Square Foot Gardening". Now in a bajillion different editions, including one for kids and one for cooking, SFG was the perfect book for a Brooklyn gardener. It contained tons of useful information like what, when, and how to plant in limited space. It was complete and it was concise. There was a poetry in its pragmatism and we appreciated that because this is New York! It's cramped and everyone's busy.

We'd love to share with you some of our favorite books, and we want to hear about yours! Bring your dogeared copies and magazines with missing covers. Bring the novel or children's book that inspired you to start tilling soil.

If you don't have one, that's fine! Drop in, say hi, and come away with a good reading list to get you started. Bring your friends! It's completely FREE.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
