Charlie Hill On and Off the Rez

The Oneida Film Society will be celebrating some amazing people this winter. To begin the New Year, we will start at home with a tribute to our own Charlie Hill. Charlie is an Oneida actor, comedian and spokesman for Native Americans. He was the first Native American comedian to appear on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He performed again on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He has made multiple appearances on Late Night with David Letterman. The January documentary, On & Off the Res’ with Charlie Hill, is a walk through of Charlie’s life with samples of his comedic work and commentary from Charlie and several of his friends including Steve Allen, Vine Deloria Jr., Even Adams and Floyd Westerman.

I hope everyone sees this on time - I just received an email that this event has been cancelled due to the extreme cold! They are hoping to reschedule it sometime in February.

Yes, it does - I was just looking at the weather trying to figure out if I'm going into work tomorrow... if the weather is bad, I may decide not to go to this as well. I'll see how the weather is tomorrow afternoon!

Due to the huge interest in this event, it has been moved to the BC Conference Room at the Norbert Hill Center, N7210 Seminary Road, in Oneida. Coming from Green Bay, you turn left at the top of the hill on Highway 54 in Oneida where the gas station is on the right. You definitely should go to eventbrite to sign up. I just signed up there and there were only 15 tickets available at the time. The tickets are free but the event is filling up fast, mainly because Charlie Hill passed away recently after this event was already scheduled and it is now a tribute to this late, great man.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
