Hi, Great to see everyone last night - new and regulars! I think Blind Assassin gave us all a lot to talk about. Next months book(s) (either / or) are 1) 'And the Ass saw the Angel' By Nick Cave http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ass-Saw-Angel-Nick-Cave-ebook/dp/B002RI921G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398253584&sr=8-1&keywords=And+the+Ass+saw+the+angel 2) 'Wolf Hall' by Hillary Mantel http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolf-Hall-Hilary-Mantel-ebook/dp/B002RI9ZZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398253661&sr=8-1&keywords=wolf+hall The date will be Tuesday 20th May. If anyone in the meantime has a book they wish to nominate for June please private message me and i will add to the poll. Nicole

Sorry all. Have spent the Easter weekend in France helping parents sort out and pack. Late, very late back last night, and been unpacking some of their stuff. Son coming with more tonight. They move next week, so I shall be able to make book club more. Let me know what you finally decide for amay and I shall start reading it.

My two pence worth is that I loathed Wolf Hall! Made myself plow through it a while back and couldn't even limp over the line with the past few chapters...

The Rosie Project though is a really sweet read - highly recommend even though it didn't make the cut. Good, funny and not too stressful read (ie the opposite of Wolf Hall. Ugh) Have just opened the Blind Assassin - got some hard core reading to do before Tuesday! Looking forward to actually making it to my first bookclub. Thanks for organising Nicole.

    Cheers

Ok, so we have 12 votes in so far. Although I think one was a double count.....see below. And the Ass saw the Angel and Wolf Hall both coming out as winners. As they are both 'unique' in their own right, I may suggest we do an either / or for May as we seem to have a love-hate of Wolf Hall dividing the group! ...Let's discuss more on Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great Easter! Nicole

Hi everyone. Looking forward to the next book, and a good read so far. Still only a 100 pages in so a way to go for me yet! As we do not have a book planned for May yet, please do send me a private message (or a message here) for a book you would like to nominate by saturday 12th April. The first 8 will be put into a survey to then vote against. I will include the top 2 from the last survey (excluding March's book of Life after Life and This months Blind Assassin) which are Wolf Hall and Grapes of Wrath. I will get the survey out on Sunday 13th April, for closure on Thursday 17th April. Thanks and enjoy the rest of Sunday!
