Gingerbread Houses

  • Dec 11, 2011 · 5:00 PM
  • This location is no longer available

It is time again to build our gingerbread houses, and then decorate them until the gingers' homeowners association complains. Sign up and help us with our Extreme Gingerbread Makeover.
Everyone is required to bring decorating candies, Etc. to help with the design and construction of the houses.
snacks and BYOB per usual....This is more snack than meal event. Think bites and hand food.

We will be building and decorating up to four houses. We will work on them in loose teams of three more or less. Paul and Angela will be keeping one of the houses because Paul is constructing all the house pieces for us and providing the platforms/foundations for the houses. Caryl will be keeping one house because she is hosting the decorating effort. Other houses will be raffled off by drawing names of those in attendance from the Cat in the Hat hat. Anyone who has won a cooking club drawing in the past or is loosely related to a past winner is not eligible for the house drawing.

Looking forward to the fun - see you on the construction site!

Great fun! My first gingerbread house, and with a Chanukah theme! Special thanks for the supplies and preparations to Paul, the Ginger Master, and also to Sandy and Gady and Paul J. and Caryl.

A very fun night - everyone did an amazing job decorating their houses. Without a doubt, a world record event! Thanks to Caryl for all of her hard work!

I don't think we will do this many people ext year. It is hard having people in two rooms and the amount of work to prepare for this event with so many people is pretty extreme for this busy time of year. Still it was fun and wonderful houses resulted. Extra special thanks to Paul and Sandy and Paul James, Jennifer and Gady without who this could not have occurred.

I got into a car accident last month. The mechanic who fixed our car was bringing our car to my husbands work and as he was bringing it to my husband, a lady hit him from behind at about 40 mph. So, the mechanic thinks the frame of my car is broken!! Unbelievable!! True story! I'm not making this up! My husbands boss is letting my husband borrow one of his cars but I'm not allowed to put a lot of miles on it ( taking it to CT.) because he is selling it.

HA! We are the Ginger Lords and our Ginger Master leads us in the lore and craft of the Ginger Bread House. All bow before our marshmellow clouds and gumdrop roofs. All hail the candy corn mailbox.
