Welcome to The Hike.

"The Hike" seeks to explore natural beauty in Sonoma and surrounding counties on foot while enjoying the company of others.

Hikes are approximately 8-12 miles and vary in difficulty.

I have been on many hikes around Sonoma County, but mostly enjoy exploring new trails, so hikes will often be exploratory for me.

To participate in a hike, I require that you take responsibility for yourself and any guest(s) that you bring.  This is actually spelled out in your agreement with meetup.com website.  See especially section 6.2 in "Meetup Terms of Service Agreement" at

While you are ultimately responsible for your comfort and safety, I also request that you are prepared.  This includes:

1. Plenty of water!
2. Plenty of nourishment.
3. Sun protection.  Sunscreen etc.
4. Protection from cold. Warm clothing in layers, appropriate socks, rain gear, emergency blanket,
5. First-aid supplies.
6. Anything else you will require to ensure your own and guest(s) personal comfort and safety.

1. Are courteous and respectful of others.
2. Bring a positive attitude and open mind.
3. Take responsibility for yourself.
4. Respect the land we hike through.
5. Come ready for a good day.
