This is a nice, mostly flat trail that mainly runs along a nice creek just west of Dawsonville. It includes 6-10 miles of trails that end in a waterfall. Note: There is one stream crossing about calf deep, so be sure to bring some water shoes if you don't want your hiking shoes to get wet.
Pace to be fast, so intermediate to advanced hikers only. As always, no pets or small children, but please bring water, snacks, and a lunch. See you there!
Carpool Options: I will run a carpool from the parking lot of Best Buy on Haynes Bridge Rd and Exit 9 off of 400. Please be there by 9:15am (we will leave promptly at 9:30am). I have a white Toyota Sequoia and will meet you in the parking lot on the left hand side of the store. Please send me an eMail by Saturday night to let me know you want to carpool with me. BTW, please make sure to bring some water, lunch, and snacks, as well as a towel and shirt change for the ride home.
Alternatively: From I75 – Take I75 to I575/515 north to Jasper. Just past the large Quicktrip gas station, on left, traveling uphill, look for sign for 108/53 on the right side of the road. Turn right onto Hwy 53 East. Go on highway 53, a little past 11 miles to Steve Tate Road (marked by Foothills shopping center on left just before road). Turn left here, and travel 7.2 miles (just past Pleasant Union Baptist Church) and turn left there at Wildcat Camp Road, travel 8/10s mile on graveled road to campground.
