The Laurel Ridge Trail is one of the prettiest trails around! It's 3.8 miles and offers great views of a section of the lake as well as the river and Buford Dam. Great photo opportunities!
It's a loop trail that is mostly flat, but has some steps/elevation in one part. Please be sure that you can handle a 4 mile walk at a moderate pace. I walk at a moderate to brisk pace and may not have a sweep in the back, so be able to keep up. There are a couple of very scenic spots where we can rest for a few minutes. The hike will probably take 90 minutes to 2 hours. It's rated easy to moderate by most sources. You probably won't need a walking stick or hiking boots, but do wear good shoes and bring some water. FYI: The park does NOT allow dogs.
There is free parking right there at the Lower Overlook Park. Meet us in front of the bathrooms at 11:15. We will leave PROMPTLY at 11:30.
See you on the trail!
