Hike At The Big Creek

The Big Creek Greenway has a bunch of easy walking trails among lots of trees. We'll meet in the second parking lot (the entrance is off of Old Alabama Road, just north of the intersection of Old Alabama and Holcomb Bridge Road. The entrance is on the left; drive in and go straight through the parking lot (you'll see lots of mountain bikes) to the large parking lot about 1/4 mile away. We'll meet in front of the building with the rest rooms).

Notes: There is basically no elevation gain, and no special equipment is needed, but do remember to bring lunch/snack and some water. Schedule approx two hours for the round-trip hike. See you there!

Charlie

Directions: From GA400, take exit 7a (Holcomb Bridge Road), then make a left at second light (Old Alabama Road). The park entrance is 1/4 mile on the left. Follow the instructions above for the meeting spot.

Hey dog lovin' people, there is a dog park on Old Alabama Road called Newtown Dog Park. It's awesome, I've taken my precious Penny there several times. I think tomorrow's expectations very clear. Let's have fun in the sun at The Big Creek Greenway. Lots of love!

    Cheers!

Lauren: I responded to your question via email earlier this week, but let me update the group policy here: NO DOGS. We've tried them in the past and they annoyed several hikers and on two occasions couldn't traverse a narrow hillside path, so we're keeping it simple with people only.

For those who want specific directions, go here and enter your starting point. Official website of the big creek:
    http://www.bigcreekgreenway.com/index.php/parking-and-directions/

The entrance you are looking for is the very last one at the bottom of the page.

Not sure what the map coordinates are. Please use the directions in the writeup; the trailhead is very easy to find. See you there.

Hi . The Cobb County Health and Wellness would like to join this group. Can we do that? If so, should I just copy this link and post it on our page? Thanks, Kam

Sounds interesting. The map doesn't help much though. Is there an address or GPS coordinates?
