Thank you for coming! I enjoyed meeting all of you. It's such a shame when a restaurant has amazing food but lousy service. The food was delicious, but the service was disorganized and the servers had attitude. We were also nickeled-and-dimed like crazy ($1.75 PER PERSON for separate checks, mandatory 20% gratuity, and $3 for refills on coffee). And at the end of the meal, they accused someone of walking out on the check! There was nobody who left without paying (the person the waitress accused of not paying had paid at the bar), so I think we were double-billed for someone. Not to mention that the extra $31.50 they collected from us for the separate checks probably covered the entire cost of that "extra" meal anyway! Thank god we had 3 French people in our party who knew the owners and were able to talk them out of making me pay for the extra check!

That must have been an awful experience for you Amenda. But don't worry, your personal conduct was great enough to compensate for all those nonsense issues.

I so felt that the dine-out club participants did not truly attempt to socialize with the French group. For a very small piece of ice cream, with little fruit, the restaurant charged me $15 which was not at all justified. Food serving time was abnormally delayed which was perhaps the French style. Otherwise Amanda, in her role as the host, acted great by gracefully coordinating with every participant individually. Our group's members were very friendly and communicated well on subjects of common interests. Overall, it was fun and positive experience which proved useful in the end. Thanks Amanda, credit for all pleasant aspects goes to you.

Folks, please be responsible with your RSVPs. The restaurant wanted a 10% deposit from me for a large-party reservation because they have had a lot of problems with no-shows, and I had to talk them out of it. So if you RSVPd "yes", I expect you to be here. If your plans change and you can't make it, please have the courtesy to change your RSVP. Because I have to confirm our headcount by the day before this brunch, if you change your RSVP to "no" after 11AM on Saturday, August 23, I will consider you a late-cancel/no-show and you may be removed from the group. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

I don't RSVP to anything for this reason but thought I would try this time... But it didn't work out

Hey everyone! Did anyone leave without paying? There was an extra check for brunch.

    • Amanda

I suspect we got double-billed for someone, but if anyone ordered the brunch menu (eggs benedict, sandwich and chocolate mousse) and an iced tea who accidentally forgot to pay, let me know.

Amanda, I made a reservation to attend and I am bringing a friend, Dawn. Is there a way to confirm that we are both on the list?

    1 · August 1

    • Amanda

If you have RSVP'd here, that is the only list I have! I will phone in the reservation closer to the date.

Since we only have a few people going so far from our French group so far, I am also going to invite my Dining Out Club Meetup.
