Update on French Film Festival at UH Clear Lake

Yesterday several of us showed up to see the French/Swiss film
"Sister" (L'enfant d'en haut) at University of Houston Clear Lake, only to be told that the subtitles were broken and the film
was canceled. A member who had driven all the way from Mont Belvieu asked them to please show it anyway, so they screened the movie in French only. I think about 15 people stayed and the rest went home.
And yes, they had the nerve to charge us full price for admission!  LOL! Merci to Jane for buying me a ticket for my birthday!

The movie was a real eye-opener about life in Switzerland. I learned 2 things:
1) There is poverty even in a rich country like Switzerland, and
2) If you ever go to a ski resort, keep your belongings with you at all times!

The movie is rescheduled for 3PM next Saturday, November 9. The last movie of the film festival (Couleur de peau: miel) will show at 7PM on November 9. I will not be able to attend, but have fun if you go to either or both!
