Memorial Park BBQ and Games (Non-climbing Meetup)

Let's get together and have a barbeque at Memorial Park! I will scope out a good site and update this soon.  Somewhere near the sand volleyball courts would be ideal so we can play that (if anyone has a volleyball) or we can play some pick up soccer, softball, or frisbee too.

Please message me if you have any ideas for the bbq and games :)

Sorry, guys, but have to bail. Have friend stranded out in BFE with car that won't run... I am leaving my grill and charcoal with John and Ana, so you guys will still have fire! Slackline will have to take raincheck.

Let's all plan on meeting up in the parking lot across from the volleyball area then. I know there are grilling spots tucked away down this loop beside there (I used to rollerblade there...and might do that today too!). Easier to meet in the parking lot and then walk to the grilling areas or take one car to scope out a spot.

Well, I really don't know about where to meet other than across from the softball fields. There is usually open space out there and it is near the volleyball area as well. John and I can take a pop up tent for a bit of shade and a folding table to help out with where to put your food. As for the grill, Steve said that we could use his Smokey grill. And then some one else can bring some charcoal? Everyone bring their meat/food for grilling. The ground may be damp so peeps should probably bring a camping chair to sit. As for games, we have Taboo. We look forward to meeting up with everyone and having a good time!

    :-)

We will bring some more charcoal, beer (of couse), and some food to grill. We have a volley ball, so we can play ;-) and I am looking forward. See you at the rock gym before grilling ;-) Katia & Fede

+1 on fields off picnic lane. Hopefully it won't be too crowded. And they have plenty of trees to set up slackline. There are also telephone poles around so long as no one from Centerpoint shows up. I have small Old Smokey that's easy to bring and I have charcoal and chimney to get things going. You want frisbee/softball? Can head to golf driving range after as well if anyone wants to show off their skills or lack of.

I think we should stick with Memorial Park for Saturday. If anyone has time to figure out where is a good meeting spot, please let me know. Crazy busy at work this week. Message me and I can make you an event host and then you can edit all you like....thanks!

How about we all go to the Renaissance Festival for a random non-climbing thing this day? I've never been but heard it's really cool....anyone want to do that instead?

    October 21, 2013

    • David

I could do renaissance festival, never been either. Just so long as Steve can still setup ye ole slack line ;)

No slack lines allowed at Ren Fest. If you've never been, consider camping at the festival. Meet some really 'interesting' people there. Heh heh. I can't go that weekend, but can take raincheck for slackline in my backyard one day.

Going to try. May be stuck at work though.

And you will set up a slack line for us if you make it. right? right? ;)

Ha! Ok, will bring setup. Go easy on booze so no one ends up tied to the tree in the end.
