Teachers Unions and the Struggle for Public Education

This week, we will discuss the role that teacher's unions (such as the AFT) have historically played in the struggle for public education. We will give a brief history of teacher's unions in the United States and then focus on the recent Chicago Teacher's Strike.

We will read the following articles:

http://www.politicalaffairs.net/the-otherworldly-attack-on-public-education/

http://www.politicalaffairs.net/education-slowdown-threatens-u-s/

http://www.politicalaffairs.net/21st-century-higher-education-an-institution-in-crisis/

The articles are short and readable. However, if you don't have time to read then just read the first one on the Chicago Teacher's Strike.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
