Let's plan a meeting for the first Thursday of next month

We have the use of the Croquet Club Rooms at Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga. We need to build a list of topics which would be good to discuss, or maybe there is someone who would like to show something they have been working on?

Looks like Google Maps now shows where we are. Did some one add a marker or was it automatically added by google somehow?

    Hi all!
Great to see the number of linux members is slowly growing. Theres a few more I know of who have not yet signed up with Meetup. Hopefully they will come along on Thursday too.

For this Thursday, I'm thinking those in the group who have been using linux for some time may want to do a quick show and tell.
What you use linux for, interests etc.
This should give us an indication of future topics.

Then yes, William and Richard, bring along what you've been looking at recently.

I hear Ubuntu 13.04 is out. Maybe a quick run down on what's new there too.

The Croquet club rooms are opposite the netball courts in Lloyd Elsmore Park.
It is across the large carpark, in a small building on the right.
We have a large table and power available to setup computers, laptops etc.

Hope to see you all there
    Sean

Inline with one of Sean's topic ideas I have been trying to connect between Terry's thin client and an AntiX1 laptop using Remote Desktop Protocol (xrdp, X11rdp). I'll bring the hardware for a bit of a play.

Although it isn't strictly Linux, I've been having a look at Aurasma's "augmented reality". I'm not sure I'd be able to talk for very long on it, because I've only just started playing with it, but it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
