I decided to start this group when I realized that at college I am considered a "non-traditional" student, and I had the thought that I am actually kind of a non-traditional mother in a non-traditional family.

The purpose of this group is to bring together not just young mothers but young families, and middle aged families too, and single dads, anyone who has a kid and a story. If your situation needs explanation, we're here for you.

Moms: We're not going to play the "my house is always this immaculate" game, and we should try to stay away from the clique game, too.

Dads, single and married; you are welcomed here.

Parents of autistic children are welcome here. I, myself, am Aspie.

Aspie and autistic parents are welcomed here.

Gay and lesbian parents, you are very welcome here.

Parents who want to find playgroups for their children whether those children are on the spectrum, overly intelligent, or just normal good kids; you are welcome here.

Parents who want to have a chance to met other adults with perhaps some of the same problems and who are less likely than those we have encountered in other groups to judge.
