BOOK REVIEW & FESTIVE LUNCH

Update:

I've made a reservation for Sunday 4 Dec at 12:30pm.  Now while the restaurant is Italian there is a neat historical twist.  For those not familiar with Palma in the East Village (Cornelia St and Bleecker) there is in fact an early 1800s carriage house behind the restaurant!  It is now used from time to time for private events and so we should have an opportunity to briefly tour it that day and gain some background on it. Palma offers great cuisine and the prices appear reasonable ($12 + up) - so thought wouldn't it be neat to have a little history woven into our festive lunch.  We can always round up the experience with a "last call" into another historic landmark "McSorleys".  Look forward to seeing you there!

Another great idea from a member of our group: likely some / most of you have read a book of late that was for interest about a point in history or helped expand your research into your family history. Why not share a review of such a book while we enjoy a festive lunch.

Great conversation, excellent food & drink. The group shared stories of exciting genealogical discovery and suggestions on how to approach search problems, including two books that sound helpful. Next time, we want to discuss more books that have made a difference to us in our family history searches. An exceptionally agreeable group made this a delightful, meaningful lunch.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
