A student at Trinity College, Dublin had approached me about completing a questionnaire relative to genealogy. I have posted the questions below. If you are interested in helping Meadhbh please visit the More tab listed above and go to Files. I have posted the questionnaire there (questions are also listed below). Responses need to be into her by March 31st.



Genealogy Questionnaire

1. How did you become interested in Genealogy?


2. Have you done your own family Genealogy?


3. How have you found your experience in accessing information e.g. family birth and death records, in Ireland?


4. Was there a particular reason for you to begin your work into genealogy? If so explain.


5. Was it important to you to visit your ancestral homeland?


6. Did it make a difference to you if you found living relatives or not?


7. Did you wish to find the specific location or origin town of your ancestors?


8. Did you conduct your research in America or Ireland?


9. If you answered Ireland, Did you find your experience to be a positive or negative one?


10. Did it change the way you perceived Ireland in any way?


11. If you are of another ethnic origin as well as Irish origin, do you focus more on one than the other?


12. What results did you expect to get from doing genealogical research?


13. Did you get said results?


14. Do you feel of your experience of Studying your Irish heritage and genealogy your personal Identity changed? If so please explain.
