If you are CT based or bound on February 7th you may be interested in attending John Kelly's talk. It is taking place from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at Ireland's Great Hunger Museum, located in Quinnipiac, CT. There will be a book signing from 6pm - 7pm. The event is free and open to the public.

For those of you that may have not read this book - I have - it is a very poignant tale of the famine. The book description:

"The Graves are Walking" is a magisterial account of one of the worst disasters to strike humankind - the Great Irish Potato Famine - conveyed as lyrical narrative history from the acclaimed author. Praised by historians and President Clinton, the book is deeply researched, compelling in its humanity and startling in its conclusions about the decisions behind this tragedy.
