As part of our discussion at yesterday's meetup we came up with the idea to post a list of all lists in terms of research avenues to take when embarking on family history research. Here is a starting point - please add to the list and I will look to create a master list that I shall collate and post back to the group. This is for primarily Irish, British and American research, with not all items applicable to each area. Can we get up to a 100 items do you think????

1. Burial Records
2. Gravestone Inscription Relevant to Gravestone Creator (ie company that produced the gravestone may have some archival info)
3. BMD (Birth, Marriage, Death) Records
4. Census Records
5. Obituaries
6. Will / Probate
7. Church Baptismal Records
8. Financial Institution Archives
9. Insurance Company Archives
10. Immigration Records
11. Surname Research
12. Local Newspapers (of area you are looking to do research)
13. Local Village / Town Lore / Tales
14. Pubs (if conducting research in England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland)
15. School Records
16. Tithe Applotments
17. Griffiths Valuations
18. Trade / Commercial Directories
19. Military Records
20. Newspaper Archives

OK over to the group....!
