GENRE NIGHT : Paranormal : "Whispers of an Apparition"

Inspired by our love for all things scary, JCW hosts a celebration of the paranormal genre.

Third and Vine, an elegant cheese and wine tavern nestled in Jersey City's Historic Downtown, welcomes Jersey City Writers for light fare, happy hour and paranormal fiction.

The event features guest speaker and award-winning novelist Leanna Renee Hieber, author of paranormal romances The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker and Darker Still from the Magic Most Foul Series. Sarah McClean, New York Times best -selling author calls Darker Still "a lush gothic tale that begs for reading". Leanna Renee Hieber will be available for questions and book signing.

Additionally, we will have handouts for aspiring writers in search of publications which accept paranormal fiction.

Suggested donation $5.

The results are in! Our esteemed judges Joseph Michael Del Priore, Allison Goldstein and Angelica Schreyer have selected the following stories to be read for Whispers of an Apparition:

"Bad Juju on You" by Meg Merriet (Reader: Jessica Nelson)
"New Religion" by Rachel Poy  (Reader: Nikki Miranda)
"Game, Set, Match" by Jim DeAngelis (Reader: Jack Halpin)
"Ghosts of Memories Past" by Alex Monfasani (Reader: Dmitry Feller)
"The Bounty of the Soil, A Solitary Child" by Paul M Bauer (Reader: Kit Vogelsang)
"There's a Special Section for Us" by Amanda Levie (Reader: Rebeca Martinez Ureña)

Great second genre night, and my first published piece. The speakers were intense, and congratulations to all writers.
