The Saturday Ladies only Bike Ride: Dreamy Draw

Good Morning Ladies

This Saturday we will meet at the Trailhead Bike Cafe on 16th street and Glendale at 5:30 am with Wheels down at 5:45 am.. If you are having problems with your bike please plan to come earlier which allows us to help you with the problem and to start on time. If you show up late or right at leave time we may not be able to assist you. If you are running a bit late or get lost please call. It's hot out and we need to start on time to beat the heat.

The Ladies ride is designed for beginner riders up to advance riders. We are here to assist you in learning the art of cycling and growing the love of cycling. The Ladies GROUP is a GROUP ride. Yes we have Ladies of all levels that is what make the ride fun. We can ride and learn from each other. Along the ride we challenge every rider to do their best, we push them outside their comfort zone for a period of time on each ride in order to expand and grow that zone.  The Ladies ride is a TIME Based ride. We ask that you plan on a 4hr ride. Yes the rides may be shorter or a bit longer depending on any problems we run into on the ride such as flat tires.

In order to enjoy riding in the heat of summer in AZ. Always keep the body hydrated by drinking plenty of water with some form of electrolytes added (Powerade, Gatorade, nun tabs etc). Take care of your skin by applying some form of sunscreen while outdoors and applying a good moisturizer on a daily base. Eating a balance meal the night before the ride and a light breakfast the morning of the ride.

Prep your water bottles by filling them 1/2 way and placing them in the freezer a day before the ride and topping them off the morning of the ride.

    Thank you Ladies for another great bike ride. The weather was perfect for the ride, we had a cloud covered sky with a little breeze.. although we did not see the sun you could feel her warmth.

      sounds like a plan. just ride normal and add a spin segment. like from pole to pole or for a min then rider normal again. try this spin for 1 min ride for 2 min and repeat 5 time during your entire ride.. next time add a 1/2 min until you can maintain a hi cadence. I am a masher too so I understand how hard it can be to changer over to a spinner..Keep at it and it does get easier.
