Good Morning Ladies
First of all, I would like to say good luck to all the Ladies that are running in the 12ks of Christman this sunday, and Congrats to all the Ladies that ran in the Chocolate 5k/15k last sunday.
This Saturday we will meet on the Ave of the Fountain in Fountain hills at 6:45am with wheels down at 7am or first light. This is a great and beautiful ride. It takes us up the B-line to Bush highway and then all the beauty begans. This is a challanging ride for all levels that can be done at your own Pace.
It has been cold in the morning so I suggest that you dress according. We will have SAG support so if you over heat you can take off a layer and put it in the SAG car.
How do you prep for such a ride in the winter? The same as though it was summer. Prep your body by drinking plenty of fluids with electrolytes(G-aid or Power Aid) and eat a good dinner and a light breakfast. Also have a good night sleep and bring with you, your desire to ride.
As far as your water bottles, do not freeze them just fill them in the morning. I would suggest that you fill them with 1/3 eletrolyte drink and 2/3 water..
You will need longfinger gloves, long cycling pants or leg warmers, longsleeve riding jacket and/or Arm warmers, a good pair of socks, shoe toe covers, and ear muffs or a benny cap.
Please chime in with a yes or a no. I rather have too much supplies than not enough.
Direction: Take shea blvd ( East if coming from phx or the 101./West if coming from B line or east valley) drive north on Saguaro blvd. you will drive about 5 miles. the fountain will be on your right make a left turn at the stop sign on to the Avenue of the Fountain. we will park on the southside of the street. Please call me if you get lost.
Have a Great week
