WordPress Vegas Meetup, August

We've got 4 speakers lined up for you this month:

Chris Rogers

Chris will be continuing his WordPress for Babies series. This month Chris will flesh out our demo site (http://vegasmeetup.wpengine.com) a tad bit more. In class, watch over his shoulder as he adds an image, video, audio and discuss slideshows. Any remaining time will be devoted to developing your own individual implementation of JAZZ HANDS! ;-)

Russ Aaron

Russ will be doing a presentation about Twitter Bootstrap. Twitter Bootstrap is one of the leading frameworks for responsive design. Many themes and plugins are based off of Twitter Bootstrap. In this presentation we are going to discuss what Twitter Bootstrap is, does, and how you can start using bootstrap on your next theme.

Robert Gillmer

Robert will be presenting on CSS and how to go about finding and fixing CSS issues on your site. He'll be showing:

1) Changing something that’s on the child theme’s stylesheet by just editting the line in the style.css

2) Overriding something that’s on the parent theme’s stylesheet by adding a new line in the child style.css which overrides it

3) Overriding something that’s on a specially loaded CSS sheet (like a “red.css” in a “colors” subfolder) by using an !important tag

4) Trying to override something loaded by a widget’s style.css (which will also be !important and will load later than the child’s style.css, so the widget CSS “wins”)

John Hawkins

John is going to give a demo of how to use the built in WordPress photo gallery.

    LOST WALLET:

Hey, I left my wallet in the classroom tonight. I was sitting in the second row, right next to the window.

It has a "I Love Garfunkel & Oates" sticker on the outside.

I can't see my doctor, get prescriptions, etc..etc.. w/o it.

    Does someone have it?

    Thanks,

    Rob Lee[masked]
