Few of us worry about if there will be a meal on the table tomorrow. For millions of people around our world, this is not the case. Here is a chance for you to make a difference.
Saturday, January 25, from 9 am - noon, we will be participating in our second meal packaging event for STOP HUNGER NOW. Last August, in cooperation with other local churches and ministries in our Mission Area, we packaged over 54,000 meals. This time, it will be solely a Westwood UMC and friends event.
Our goal is to have 100 volunteers and friends, representing both the 10 a.m. worship service and The Loft, and to package 25,000 meals!
Part of the task is also fundraising to cover the costs of the meals produced. Stop Hunger Now is able to do this for only 25 cents a meal. We hope to “oversubscribe” and are setting of goal of $7,000. Please mark your calendars, invite your friends and co-workers, and help make a difference.
