The Loft at the Grange is located on the second floor of the historic Brookline Village Store in the center of Brookline, NH (and event series called the Village Gate Folk Stage used to be held in the same location.)
Some comments from our audience and performers:
"That was a great evening. Reminded me of some of the folk music coffee houses of the 60s and 70s. Played many an evening up north at a ski house to a small group of friends. Just sit back, relax and play. The only thing missing was a roaring fire in a fireplace. Looking forward to the next open mike. I really enjoyed it."

"What a fabulous night out at The Loft on Friday night. One vocalist brought chills to my spine and others brought memories of old songs I remember listening to in college…and it only cost $3 for live entertainment. I will definitely attend the next open mic and perhaps even be brave enough to play my guitar and sing."

"I really enjoyed the music last night – it is the same kind of music my friends and I play in the Concord area. Next time I will feel comfortable enough to play there. I think a number of others will come to listen next time."
– Don
"It was a pleasure to play for such a quiet, considerate, and appreciative group, and to hear such a wide variety of good music."
– Jon
The loft is a large room --- about 1500 square feet --- with very tall ceilings. It's great for acoustics, with no need for PA system amplification. It's housed in a building which has played a central role in Brookline's history for decades, serving as its farmers' Grange for a time. Lovingly restored, the Loft shows its Greek Revival roots in every corner! The location is on NH Route 130, just east of Route 130's junction with NH Route 13.
We plan to begin with an Open Mic and hopefully make it a monthly event, adding in other music and performing arts events as we go.
The Loft at the Grange is affiliated with Nashua's Studio 99, which hosts our sister Meetup group, featuring more music and arts events:
The not so good news: The Village Store in Brookline will be closed for the winter months beginning Dec. thru at least Feb. So the Loft at the Grange will close down for those months, and will hopefully start back up in March, 2010...either that, or April. It's up to the Store! We'll keep you informed.
So...one more Loft for the fall...and then we'll be back in the spring! Read more
This group doesn't have any additional upcoming Meetups scheduled.
