My proposal is designed to facilitate parents of ASD children in organising their own cooperatives - and cooperative networks - for after-school and respite care. Many families have had this service cut, recently, and cannot afford to cover their costs directly. I would like to incorporate Jaron Lanier's Somatic Cognitnion technology, allowing the learner to become his/her own avatar to learn about various biological forms through virtual reality. For example a child learning about spiders whould be enabled to understanding via becoming a virtual spider and could understand what it is to operate and exist with 8 legs. I'm also interested in Seeper's immersive, interactive technology, as it seemed to engage SEN children in a storytelling project they conducted at Baskerville school in Birmingham. I would also like to include a Chatroulette style device for parents to network, and help each other understand new opportunities, and to lessen the shame and stigma of their situation.
I would like feedback on the best possible tool for this composite device - whether a wii style playstation or just a website that might work with I-pad, for example. I need to know if it is possible to align these games to ASD or SEN curriculi. I'm also interested if there are parents who could co- create this device in league with WII or Apple or Microsoft - what are the IP issues for this kind of collaboration.

I'm pursuing my MA in Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths College. Currently I'm in the process of curating content for a downloadable toolkit which uses creative practice to help with learning, for children within the ASD spectrum.
