Our first series of apps was very well received and spurred us on to look at our products and business completely differently. I am also a member of the BESA (British Educational Suppliers Association) executive council and fortunate to attend many education policy briefings. The current government's view on the use of technology in schools is extremely dated (circa 1950) and as an industry, it is vital that we don't allow the baby to be thrown out with the bathwater and lose the gains made in the use of technology in schools. We need to create exceptional products that have a positive impact on children's lives and crucially, we need thorough, rigorous testing to prove the educational value of what we are doing.
To deepen my understanding of technology and keep up with the rapid changes that are taking place in it. I'd also like to meet collaborative partners, developers and designers and bring my experience and enthusiasm to this very exciting group.
