Sorry Juliet. It's hard to lead the group and keep stopping them to pick up the phone to give directions :-( Please add an extra half hour to the journey planning and hope to see you next time.

I was surprised Sloane Square was quite easy to reach from Kingsbury. When we started off from the station I was a little disorientated, because of the traffic. But after Agee minutes we were off the busy road and the walk was just what I needed. By the end my feet had given up I crawled back home. Look forward to the next walk. The group were fantastic

Very enjoyable, the company was stimulating and the nooks and crannies interesting. Made me glad I didn't sit drowsing on the bench this afternoon like the Chelsea pensioner!

At the time of the walk the weather is predicted to be cloudy. There is light rain in the morning and later in the afternoon. The walk is going ahead. If you can no longer make it, no need to update me, just change your RSVP to 'no'. Thanks.

We do leave promptly so please plan your journey and give extra time for potential transport issues. If you arrive too early, there is Saatchi Gallery that you can visit and shops. ;-)

I need to be at the Thameslink station by 2.30pm near Ludgate hill.

The walk might not be a good idea as you wont get to relax and enjoy the walk if you have to watch the time and think of transport for your next meeting...up to you of course.

    # Toilets places before the start of the walk - go to Peter Jones department store opposite the tube station or one of the many cafes.

    # Latecomers pickup point at around 1.30pm is outside Carlyle House, 24 Cheyne Row, Chelsea, London, SW3 5HL. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/carlyles-house/visitor-information/

    # There's also a toilet stop two thirds of the walk in at Battersea Park (blue dot between numbers 8 and 9 on the map below): http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/info/200073/parks_and_open_spaces/266/battersea_park/8

I asked about the route because I have another appointment and wished to know where we would be at any given time (approx) to know where the nearest transport point would be.
Can you give me the streets we will be walking through Tania?

    January 13, 2014

    • Tanya D

Hmm...we aren't going to be near a tube till the end. Around what time is your appointment? I can approximate where we might be, but there are building works going up all over the place which will mean route modifications on the day. For instance The Royal Hospital (Chelsea Pensioners) may not finish their building works in time for Saturday which means we may not be able to go in. Flexibility is the key with these walks! I can point out the nearest roads where you might be able to catch a bus to Sloane Sq or Victoria on the day.

    Which route do we take?

    January 12, 2014

    • Tanya D

It's a circular walk. We end up back at Sloane Square.

I do not think I could walk 4.5 miles. would it be ok to drop out early if I get tired?

    January 6, 2014

    • terence f.

The advantage of walking in London is that there is always some public transport near at hand. I was surprised how far I could walk gently.

      January 6, 2014

    • Tanya D

Yes Nadya. Feel free to drop out when you want. The walk is on flat terrain and no steps.

Sorry to withdraw. Do have an interesting walk.
