Charles Dickens walk - Temple tube to Holborn tube

This is a 5 mile walk through the Inns of Court, Holborn and Bloomsbury area. This is not a walk to bring dogs as the Inns of Court are private property.

Some of these legal buildings survived the Great Fire of London and are like a village. Here we walk into Dickensian London, especially in his novel Martin Chuzzlewit.

Meet outside Temple tube at 1pm. We start promptly, so do plan your journey! Please click here for the Transport for London Journey planner

PS: The walk will be cancelled if the weather suddenly turns bad or there are less than 10 people signed up.

Very interesting. Walked up parts that were new to me. Will be returning to the Dickens Museum at some point, now I know where it is. A very pleasant walk.

Great as a taster of the legal quarter and introduced me to an unknown graveyard and some georgian streets. Some nice people too

Any number we can call if a few minutes late? Or even better which way does the walk start off on and where would the first stop to catch up with the group if need be?

Where do we finish the walk? Or is there a tube station that we pass in case the walk takes more time than planned?

May I know when the walk is expected to end? I have dinner guests so I can't stay for too long, perhaps if I know the itinerary it could help.
    Thanks

    Hi All,

I've increased the length of this walk by a mile and renamed in Charles Dickens walk. I'll point out areas of interest, but these walks are not tours with commentaries. For those type of walks I can recommend London Walks who have qualified and knowledgeable guides and charge around £8 for a walk. If you have any stories of the area, do feel free to share with the group. Sadly no dogs allowed on this walk as the Inns of Court are private property with a dog ban. On the first part of the walk we walk through the Inns, I would ask that we are quiet as Thursday is a working day and some lawyers are in their chambers. We don't want to attract their attention and be asked to leave.

The weather is predicted to be sunny so the walk is going ahead. Looking forward to seeing you! :-)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
