Amnesty International UK & the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions invite you to:

Discrimination, Displacement & Despair
The Impact of Israel’s Prolonged Occupation
With Itay Epshtain, Co-Director of ICAHD

Discussion followed by Q&A and reception

The event is free and will start at 7.00pm - please ensure you book to reserve your tickets

Israel’s 45 years of occupation has seen more than 27,000 Palestinian structures demolished in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza and the displacement of more than 160,000 Palestinians. Meanwhile more than 600,000 Israelis have settled in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Has Israel’s ‘prolonged occupation” been a self-serving concept devised by Israel to expand its freedom of action in the Occupied Palestinian Territory while diminishing its responsibility toward the Palestinian inhabitants?

Itay Epshtain will discuss these issues and engage in a Q&A afterwards.

Itay joined the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions (ICAHD) in 2011 and spearheads its strategic human rights litigation efforts, and serves as a point of contact to governments, intergovernmental organizations, and international non-governmental organizations. He is ICAHD’s representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva and has appeared before numerous UN bodies, advocating for human rights, justice and peace. Prior to joining ICAHD he served as the Executive Director of Amnesty International's Israel Section.
