The Five Love Languages

Dr Gary Chapman is just the man to turn to for insight on improving or healing our most important relationships. His own life experiences, plus over thirty-five years of pastoring and marriage counseling, led him to publish his first book in the Love Language series, The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate. Millions of readers credit this continual New York Times bestseller by showing them simple and practical ways to communicate love to partners.

Since the success of his first book, Dr. Chapman has expanded his Five Love Languages series to specifically reach out to teens, singles, men, and children.

He is the author of numerous other books published by Moody Publishers/Northfield Publishing, including, Anger, The Family You’ve Always Wanted, The Marriage You’ve Always Wanted, Desperate Marriages, God Speaks Your Love Language(Jan 09), Parenting Your Adult Child, and Hope for the Separated. He co-authored The Five Languages of Apology with Dr. Jennifer Thomas.

Dr. Chapman holds BA and MA degrees in anthropology from Wheaton College and Wake Forest University, respectively, MRE and PhD degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has completed postgraduate work at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.

The Session

The session kicks off at 2pm and lasts approximately 2 hours. An agenda with key questions arising from the text will be used to frame the discussion. It's a creative session where everyone is encouraged to contribute and share.

If you didn't attend the previous meeting and need to get your hands on the book, Brixton Library has a few copies remaining. If you fancy a trip to Brixton, you can take it out on loan (best to email me first before going!). Alternatively you can buy it on Amazon.co.uk. Kindle version also available.

Travel

The library is in the heart of Brixton, with numerous travel options including tube, train and bus. If driving you should have little trouble finding free parking nearby on a Sunday.

Great discussion on the "Doing/Action" part of LOVE. A lot of fantastic Aha! moments. I've started implementing! A very practical book that probably everyone should read.

No plans for doubling sessions. Early bird rules. If you go on the waiting list one or two people could well have to change their RSVP.
