Have you always wanted to ski/snowboard but haven't had the chance to learn?
Do you still consider yourself a beginner/intermediate skier/snowboarder but don't have any one else to go with? Are you always left to go alone on the blue/green slopes while your friends proudly go off to the more advanced slopes? Do you find yourself making a resolution year after year to learn/go skiing/snowboarding, yet at the end of the season you find that you haven't done anything? Have you always skied on dry snow, but are keen to hit some real slopes?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this meetup is perfect for you. I have skied a few times but I still consider myself a beginner. Also, I haven't been on the slopes for years so I really want to get back into it.

Most of the groups that I've looked at in Meetup seemed to be geared towards serious powder buffs. Ultimately I have no interest in skiing double black diamonds/ moguls/heli skiing. However, don't let that stop you if that's your goal. The group is mainly geared at those who have never skiied/snowboarded, or are still at beginner/Intermediate level though.

My plan is to have a couple of trips to SNO!zone in Milton Keynes and learn/practice as much as possible until everyone feels somewhat comfortable. Then comes the ski season, we'll hit some real slopes in some cool resorts away from our shores. Although the meetup is primarily focused on skiing and or snowboarding, we may incorporate activities like snowmobiling, dog sledding, snow shoeing... during some of our trips if enough people are interested.

Skiing/snowboarding is a fun and addictive sport once you've learned your way around a mountain, and the pistes. The Apres-ski scene can be a lot of fun as well and as such enhances the whole experience.

Note that  the success of the group depends very much on me as much as it depends on you the members. It's also really important to me that everyone has fun and enjoys themselves. Therefore, participation in the group's events is key. So, please consider joining only if you are keen to get into skiing or snowboarding and you really intend to meet face to face. You don't have to participate in all meetups. However at the end of each ski season, memberships will be reviewed. Dormant members who have not participated in a least one meetup will have their membership permanently revoked.

I am looking forward to some adrenaline powered fun and goofy moments on the slopes with you!
