Wine and Spanish Cheese Tasting at New Street Wine Shop

The New Street Wine Shop is hosting an evening pairing five of their very best Spanish cheeses from specialist supplier Brindisa with an unusual range of wines. The line-up of wines is still to be finalised but will include I am told a white port!

The tasting will be presented by the shop manager Claudio Martins and will start at 6.30 and last about 1 1/2 hours. For more details see:

The cost of tickets is £25 (+£1 paypal fee) and I have reserved 13 places for the group.

The New Sreet Wine Shop is just 2 minutes walk from Liverpool Street staion. They have Oenomatic tasting machines so you can sample other wines before or after the tasting if you wish.

I agree with the previous comments - an enjoybale and informative evening but small portions of wine and miniscule portions of cheese considering the ticket price. Would not rush back! Nevertheless very enjoyable company.

Good to see folk from the group and meet a few new people but the event was not a success in my opinion. The people running the event seemed more interested in packing them in to get more money but did not provide what is needed to make it enjoyable for the participants. It did not feel welcoming to start with,it was too noisy when speakers were trying to make themselves heard -which must also have been off-putting for them as well- and the portions of cheese and wine were very mean. It also took ages to be given each sample. No, I agree with Christine. Not good. Shame but you were not to know Christos.

Nice venue but samples of wine and cheeses were on the small side and it was very slow. Also a little difficult to hear the speaker due to background noise from other parties.

Nice tasting if a little on the slow side.
