The London Wine Workshop Group does exactly what it says on the tin! It’s where wine lovers meet others like them, while learning about, and, of course, partaking of, wine.
The London Wine Workshop Group isn’t only about workshops. Anyone who likes wine should join this group. They will get to meet other like-minded people around a glass or two, in an agreeable Central London location, and we all know from experience that wine is a great social ice-breaker, so this is a match made in heaven!
Before I start posting loads of meetups, I need members, so get signed up. It’s free!
Meetups will include:
• Saturday workshops where we get together and talk about wines, guided by me, Gilbert. I have posted the first one of these at the same time as launching this group: an all-day Saturday workshop in The Metropolitan in trendy Westbourne Park. It will be in January, but the date hasn’t been set yet, as I want to get some members before deciding that
• Wine trade consumer events on a theme or region, some of which may be free of charge
• Wine tasting evenings, hosted my me, in a bar or restaurant
- Sake tasting evenings, if I can elicit enough interest. Go on, give it a try!
• If we get interest in this, trips to English vineyards. In November I arranged a visit for 30 people to Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard in Sussex, and I would love to arrange others
• Other event you might suggest that I don’t even know about yet

I want this to be an organic group, so that it grows and adapts according to the desires of the members. It is going to start small, and hopefully pick up members as I arrange meet-ups that make people happy. I am a fully qualified WSET wine educator (see my profile for more mild boasting), but I like to think (and clients seem to agree) that I present in an informal and approachable way, and we manage to have as much irreverent fun as possible with wine, and still learn something at the same time.
