Pre-Build Day for beginners

We will be having our first pre-build day for beginners. Our agenda is to go over the parts and components, what they do and to create a parts list for each builder for their project. This way we will have time for each builder to order their parts before we have our actual Build Day. We will have 10 seats available for builders on a first come basis. We will also need experienced builders to help out, so please volunteer.

Hi Guys, I am in dire need of someone with NAZA M experience, I will come to you. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the next fly-in on the 8/3. thanks mike

Sorry you can't make the fly-in. Exactly what type of problems are you running into with the Naza M? I am confident with firmware version 2.02, however I myself have not tried the 3.x version due to a large history of 'flyaways' posts. A friend tried the 3.x and had problems. He reloaded 2.02, now copter is ok.

Does anyone need carbon fiber tubes for their builds? I found a distributor who want our business. He said he would give us quotes and samples. I don't think I will use tubing on my first build but it might help someone else.

For those that are interested in building at the upcoming (Date TBD) build day, here's a spreadsheet that will help you know what to order:

Contact me ([masked]) or Tyler if you have questions.

Tyler, Kavi, Joe, do you guys use drive calculator? Any thoughts good or bad? http://www.drivecalc.de/
    Thanks

Not really. It's pretty easy to figure out specs looking at the motor thrust specs of MFG websites.

I REALLY want to attend this, but I can't this time. I'll try to make next week's flying event.

I'm coming as a experienced builder to help anyone with the copter building process. I'll bring extra tools so that more people can build simultaneously.

Steve, you're fine... we have a seat for you. No tools necessary for this meeting. As you see by the description of the event that this is pre-planning what people will be building and making lists of materials and tools needed. See you then.

I will be there. Can I get confirmation that I was one of the 1st 10 seats, or will there be a line forming outside the building on Saturday?

    July 22, 2013

  • Mike K.

I will be there for the build , count me in!

    July 20, 2013

  • Bob O.

I'll try to make it. Do I need to bring some equipment: soldering iron, tools, etc?

It would be great if everyone lists what they are planning to build and need help with.

@Max -- I think that's exactly what this pre-build meeting is for! Come and learn all about how these things actually work and maybe you'll want to build one!

Cool thank you and like Mario I have an RC helicopter I need help balancing. After the wall slam I put on the new parts but it still flies very crazy.

  • Mario B.

I'm going to try and fix an old rc helicopter I have laying around.

Sounds awesome! No experience at all right now so this well be a great learning one. =) Hope to learn a little something from the retired engineer as well ^-^

    1 · July 17, 2013

  • Tom M.

I don't need to build anything at the moment but will help out as needed. And I can always learn something new. Sounds fun.
