Windsor Ave and Ventura St., Pasadena, CA
Meet fellow lovers of the outdoors while hiking through a beautiful, wild enclave in Pasadena. You will get to witness some of the damage that the devastating 2009 Station Fire had wrought through this area and experience nature rebounding after the fire. Be prepared to cross the picturesque Arroyo Seco stream numerous times by rock hopping and balancing on logs. Halfway into the hike, we will have a potluck lunch at the Paul Little Picnic Area, after which, we will take a short detour to see the Brown Canyon Dam before hiking back the same way we came.
The hike is 6.5 miles with about 400 ft. elevation gain. We'll be going at a moderate pace. This hike is suitable for beginners.
Bring: 2 quarts water, a potluck item to share, shoes with good traction that you don't mind getting wet (no flip flops!), light jacket and sunscreen.
Meet at 10:00 AM (sharp) near the trailhead, at the parking lot by JPL (corner of Windsor Ave and Ventura St., Pasadena)
The parking lot is small so you may have to park on the residential streets.
I will email my phone number to all registered participants shortly before the hike.
There are no bathroom facilities at the trailhead.
Rain or fire postpones.
Sorry, no dogs allowed.
