Since taking over the L.A. Polish Group a few weeks ago, I have set up 2 meetups. Both of these meetups had extremely low turnout, with only 1 "Yes" RSVP (excluding my own).
The main problem seems to be that we have very few active Meetup members. Out of our current 26 members, only 8 have visited the site in the last 2 weeks. About 10 members haven't been seen for over 2 months.
So until our group grows, I won't simply be able to schedule a meetup and expect people to be there. At this point, to keep the group alive, the few of us that are serious about meeting will have to team up and work on getting at least 3 or 4 of us together in one place.
So here are some questions to get the ball rolling: - What is the best time for you to meet? Weekends? Weeknights? Are some days better than others? - What type of place would you prefer to meet in next? What area of Los Angeles would you prefer to meet in?
This meetup is aimed at people who share a Polish heritage or a sincere interest in Poland and the Polish language. Polish will be spoken at the meetups whenever possible, though Polish skills are not required. People who want to learn or practice Polish are welcome. We look forward to meeting you and having fun together as we celebrate all things Polish!
Friendly reminder: the organizer pays a subscription fee in order to lead this Meetup and make it available to you. Please be courteous to the organizer and your fellow members by honoring your RSVP.
