Trail "Pick-nic” with Wild Edibles & Forage Walk

Again - check the map below which shows you exactly where we meet.

Click here for a link to the MAP.  There is no sign on the road indicating that this is "fire road" so study the map.

It's the same location than last week but we'll walk further looking for new wild edibles and we get some different food - YAY!  so if you came to the last meetup, this one will be different.

So join us for a unique nature experience where we take an informative and leisurely foraging hike. We'll identify wild edibles and talk a little bit about their uses. We'll see what nature's bounty has to offer at this time of year including wild greens and aromatics. You may even collect some for yourself!

The hike is approximately an hour and then we'll return to our base camp and share a few picnic-style gourmet bites that feature these micro-seasonal and hyper-local forages. You’ll get an idea of how you can use wild edibles at home and hopefully be inspired to get in the kitchen and make your own creations with local foods. We may even sample some artisanal beer made with wild mugwort and white sage.

Please bring water for the walk, sensible shoes and clothing. You may want to bring sunscreen or a jacket and possibly a picnic blanket if you want to take advantage of dining al fresco.

Where do you park? (It looks like driving, biking, walking only along there. I didn't see any parked cars.) BTW, did you know you can virtually walk through the LA Zoo with GoogleMaps? I saw the elephants and the hippo. Kinda cool : )

For some reason I didn't click on his link to my reply. I clicked on the map that wasn't googlemap, and found the right location to park. Thanks for looking out for the others! http://urbanoutdoorskills.com/griffith-park.html
